The Protector

This vibrant male tree swallow seemed like he was there to greet us each morning on our dog walk. We know better though. He was using his beautiful vibrant feathers to distract us away from his nesting mate. It worked because his beauty is hard to look away from especially when he's so happy to sit and pose. We don't see the tree swallows for long but when we do it's memorable.

I included a faint hint of the old single lane bridge in Cochrane, Alberta that sits over the Bow River and often peaks at us through the fog.
